The trumpeting angel image was popular about 1800. Susanna Hinckley (1790), daughter of Samuel, has a very similar stone carved by the Lamsons of Boston. It has been reported that Samuel's stone was carved by Nathaniel Holmes of Barnstable who copied Susanna's Lamson stone.
