Some hearty friend shall drop his tear
On my dry Bones and say
"These once were strong as mine appear
And mine must be as they"
Thus shall our moulding Members teach
What now our Senses learn
For Dust and Ashes loudest preach
Man's infinite Concern
This gravestone is carved in the style of William Codner who was one of Boston's finest portrait stone carvers in the eighteenth century. The gravestone displays a confident and optimistic face. Another good Codner style stone at Brewster Cem is Joshua & Isaac Bangs (1778).
