William Bennett

The following information about William Bennett of Boston was obtained from a feature article by James Blachowicz in the Association for Gravestone Studies Quarterly Bulletin Vol 26 No 4 Fall 2002.

William Bennett probably was born in 1780 and died in 1835 or 1846. Most of his gravestones are dated 1790 - 1815. Bennett probably worked in the John Homer shop in Boston along with William Homer and Samuel White Jr. There are indications he took over the Homer business after John Homer died in 1803. The Homer shop produced some gravestones in the Geyer carver style.

Following are some of the gravestones attributed to carver William Bennett by Blachowicz.
