This unidentified carver was the first skilled stone carver in the Boston area. He is identified in the literature as the Charlestown stone carver or as the Boston stone carver. He worked in the time period 1653 -1695. Most likely Joseph Lamson, William Mumford, Nathaniel Emmes learned the trade from him.
