Robert Fowle (1743 - 1805) began carving gravestones in the Boston area in the 1760's. It is reported in the literature that in the 1790's he worked in the shop of the Geyer stonecarvers. The Chatham Historical Society has received expert opinion that the gravestones listed below are in the style of Robert Fowle.
