Henry Christian Geyer (died about 1790) and his son, John Just Geyer (1758 - 1808), worked in Boston's South End. They produced some dramatic markers including smiling skulls with irregular or deep gouged eye sockets and deep gouged nose holes. They also produced winged heads. Often the wings have a wide scallop border sometimes described as a scallop collar. The following markers are of the style carved by the Geyers. Literature sources confirm some of these attributions.
