William Grant (1694 - 1726) of Boston carved in the style of contemporaries including Nathaniel Emmes, James Gilchrist and William Custin. He is known for distinctive winged heads. Experts indicate that the gravestone ofThomas Lewes (d 1718) in Eastham Cove Cem most likely was carved by Grant.
