Seth Tinkham - Carver

Seth Tinkham (1705 - 1751) was a contemporary of Nathaniel Fuller in the Plymouth area. He became as skillful as Fuller and he produced similar carvings. However, Fuller carved many more markers than Tinkham. William Cushman and Nathan Hayward were Plymouth area carvers who learned from Fuller and Tinkham and also produced similar carvings. It is difficult to distinguish among these four carvers. See Nathaniel Fuller and William Cushman for several examples of this type carving. Some of the markers listed under Fuller most likely were carved by Seth Tinkham.

John Bacon (1731) - Barnstable Cobb's Hill Cem.
