The gravestone displays a winged head with hourglass over the head. The inscription area is heart shaped surrounded by an ornate border. This ornate gravestone is the oldest gravestone with a winged head on Cape Cod. The top right photo shows the headstone with the footstone in the background. The gravestone carver is unknown but reasonable possibilities include Joseph Lamson, Nathaniel Emmes or James Gilchrist all of Boston.

The footstone shown in the second row right photo displays a small, lightly carved winged skull. Years ago a metal cover was installed over the top of the footstone for protection.

The bottom photo shows Marcy Freeman headstone and footstone in the right foreground, Major John Freeman (1719) headstone and footstone in the left foreground and their son Lieut. Edmond Freeman (1718/9) headstone at their feet in the left background. Marcy (Prence) Freeman was the daughter of Governor Thomas Prence.
