This fieldstone headstone was found in a 1904 cemetery survey but it was not found in the 1976 survey where the name was listed as Mercy Freeman. The headstone was found buried during cemetery restoration work in 2000. The left photo shows the headstone. The middle photo shows the headstone with footstone in the left background and the headstone of Bennet Paine (1716) in the right background. The right photo shows the footstone.

Genealogical sources indicate Marcy Freeman died November 5, 1736 in her 6th year. She was the daughter of Deacon Samuel Freeman (1751) and his wife Mary (Paine) Freeman (1770) both buried in Cove Burying Ground. She was the grandchild of Bennet Paine (1716).
