MATERIAL - slate

HEADSTONE - 20" W, 30" H, 2" D

FOOTSTONE - 13" W, 16" H, 2" D

CONDITION - vertical and diagonal cracks in headstone

COMMENTS - Headstone back and edges encased in resin bonded fiberglass applied about 1977. Diagonal crack in tympanum was filled in the past with a gray sealant material. Headstone and footstone cleaned September 2004. In November 2007 the headstone was excavated and the fiberglass backing was removed. Silicone which was holding pieces together was removed. The pieces were bonded in place with epoxy adhesive. Mortar was applied to fill cracks and voids in the front and back. The stone was cleaned and reset.
