in the 19th year of her age

This is the most ornate gravestone in Bridge Road Cemetery. Dorcas Shaw was the first wife of Rev. Philander Shaw. See Philander Shaw (d 1800), son of Rev. Shaw and his second wife Lucy, for a similar carved image. The gravestone for Dorcas Shaw was carved by Bildad Washburn of Kingston according to gravestone researcher James Blachowicz.

FOOTSTONE - 12" W, 20" H, 1" D

COMMENTS - Headstone and footstone cleaned and reset in 2000. Headstone and footstone cleaned September 2004. Headstone cleaned October 2008. Footstone cleaned July 2009.
