The gravestone displays a winged skull with an hourglass on top reminding us that time is running out. It is carved in the style of William Mumford or Nathaniel Emmes both of Boston.

The broken footstone shown in the bottom left photo was broken and lost between 1976 and 2000. In 2007 it was found, excavated and set in an upright position as shown in the bottom right photo. Slate fragments from the footstone were placed in a plastic bag and buried 6" deep next to the east side of the footstone.

MATERIAL - slate

HEADSTONE - 17" W, 20" H, 2" D

FOOTSTONE - 14" W, 7" H, 1" D (found September 2007)

CONDITION -

COMMENTS - Headstone back and edges encased in resin bonded fiberglass applied about 1977. Headstone cleaned October 2004 and June 2007. Fiberglass backing removed October 2008. Headstone cleaned with D/2 and reset October 2008.
