Though Health had ting'd thy cheek with roseate bloom,
And beauty lent her facinating charm;
Yet Health nor charms could stay thy early doom,
Nor worth nor virtue DEATH'S stern pow'r disarm.
Ere thrice five Moons had wax'd and wan'd, that voice,
Which cheer'd a Husband's heart was hush'd in death;
Love's darling pledge which bade that heart rejoice,
Had wing'd its spirit and resign'd its breath!
Thy spotless soul has flown to Realms on high,
To reembrace Love's pledge, thy cherub boy;
When God Shall bid thy husband's spirit fly,
May thy fond souls unite in endless joy.
