Henry Dyer 1828

headstone

In memory of
Capt. HENRY DYER
who died
Feb. 25, 1828
AEt. 63

Cold is that breast which felt a brothers grief
Lifeless those hands so prompt to bring relief
Closed are those eyes whose beams did joy impart
And mute that tongue which spoke the inmost heart
Tears dew thy grave whilst thy free spirit flies
To mix with angels in thy native skies.

The gravestone displays an urn and willow.
